has been happily serving as a chapter leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation since 2008.  She is a stay-at-home mom who offers local food consulting, teaches local food and green living courses and works with farmers to start CSAs at local schools and businesses.  Heather grew up in California with Hungarian relatives who knew the importance of knowing your farmer well.  Raw milk, butter, cheese and beef from grass-fed cattle were staples in her home.  While attending the University of California, Davis she completed research on “bovines in captivity” for the psychology department and learned about Francis Pottenger’s work.  Years of foreign travel increased her curiosity and love of new and traditional foods from all over the world.  She discovered Weston A. Price after getting married and settling in Georgia where, during a search for raw cheese, she came to realize that some of the foods she grew up with in California weren’t legal in Georgia.  It took 3 years of learning, searching and visiting farms to put everything food-wise back in place before having two lovely little girls. Heather continued her work in promoting local food when she served as sourcing manager for Improv’eat (at the time it was a local WAP style food service).  She has several published articles and does media interviews in her spare time.  Heather Tubbs holds a MA from the University of the Pacific in organizational communication with an emphasis in computer mediated communication and a BA from the University of California, Davis in psychology and rhetoric and communications.
