Faculty Position in Computational Oncology
The Computational Oncology Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is inviting applications for tenure track faculty positions at the level of Assistant and Associate Member. Cancer research has firmly moved in the direction of quantitative and data driven science. Responding to this challenge, we are seeking exceptional early to mid-career candidates to develop independent research programs and join our efforts to grow and advance computationally focused cancer research at MSK. We are seeking candidates to join our faculty with research interests in (but not limited to) single cell profiling (all modalities - genome, transcriptome, proteome, epigenome, etc…), AI methods for medical and cellular imaging, cancer evolution, large scale clinical genomics, spatial transcriptomics, the tumor microenvironment & immunogenomics, longitudinal timeseries analysis, drug response, the cancer microbiome, and other cancer-related disciplines. Candidates’ research objectives can span questions in basic cancer biology, clinical translation, computational methods, and/or large-scale data analysis. Eligible candidates will have a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline. Candidates with strong backgrounds in machine learning/AI, algorithm development, mathematical modeling and/or data science and bioinformatics with proven publication track records in biomedical research and/or data-driven discovery are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our program is located at a newly created computational campus of MSK, encompassing the Computational Oncology research laboratories, flanked by other computational groups such as clinical bioinformatics, radiology informatics, high performance computing, the Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Center for Molecular Oncology (CMO) Computational Sciences and Technology Innovation groups. Our faculty develop fully independent computational research programs, often collaborating extensively with the clinical faculty at MSK across all disease areas, providing unique opportunities to integrate clinical datasets into computational research. Opportunities to establish collaborations with faculty in other programs including, for example, the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program, the CMO, the David M. Rubenstein Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy are highly supported and encouraged.
Faculty will also be eligible to hold appointments in Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) Graduate School and the Tri-Institutional Computational Biology for Medicine program across MSK and WCMC, providing access to exceptional graduate students.

Post Doctoral Fellowship in Computational Oncology
We are seeking candidates for a postdoctoral fellowship in the Reznik lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to study tumor metabolism through computational analysis of metabolomic and genetic data. An energetic and creative scientist with a background in computational models of metabolism, genomics, or machine learning is sought to lead new studies of metabolic interactions in the tumor microenvironment, tumor evolution, and therapeutic resistance. The fellow will join a diverse group of quantitative geneticists, genomicists, and machine learners embedded in the Computational Oncology Service, a new initiative dedicated to translational, data-driven cancer science and tightly integrated with the work of MSK’s clinicians. Applicants must possess a PhD in a quantitative discipline, including but not limited to computational biology, computer science, machine learning, or applied mathematics. A background in metabolomics or cancer genomics is an asset but not required.

Post Doctoral Fellowship in Medical Physics/Biostatistics
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate, interested in biostatistics and bioinformatics, for a position as a postdoctoral fellow. This position will focus on machine learning-based modeling of outcomes on genome-wide association studies (GWAS) that include radiation and genetics (e.g., the Women’s Environmental Cancer and Radiation Epidemiology (WECARE) Study and REQUITE Study).
The ideal candidate should have:
- PhD degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, statistics, physics or a related field
- Experience in predictive modeling using machine learning techniques
- Experience in analyzing large data sets, be proficient in at least one of the statistical programming languages R/Matlab/Python and have experience working on Unix/Linux systems and basic shell scripting
Experience in GWAS data analysis would be advantageous, but is not necessary.

We are seeking an investigator with interests in health services research and health care policy to join the Health Outcomes Research Group at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a program of independent research. Our investigators have interests in many aspects of the health care delivery system including variation in quality, practice and outcomes, risk prediction and screening for cancer, pharmaceutical pricing, health economics, and cancer survivorship. The academic position will be housed within the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics (Chair, Colin Begg). The position may also be affiliatedwith the Institution’s Center for Health Policy and Outcomes (Director, Peter Bach). Faculty Position in Biostatistics
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking doctoral-level biostatisticians to fill multiple open-rank faculty positions. Individuals will have the opportunity to engage in collaborative research with investigators studying the full spectrum of problems in cancer research, pursue their independent research interests, provide mentoring to junior faculty, and become leaders throughout the institution and the oncology community in cancer research methods. The ideal applicant must have a strong commitment to statistical collaborations with medical or basic science investigators, excellent communication skills, and an interest in pursuing independent methodological research.
Successful candidates will join an existing group of 41 biostatisticians (16 faculty and 25 research staff), which include five ASA fellows, editors of leading journals, and presidents of international societies. Doctoral-Level Biostatistician
The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, a group made up of 35 doctoral and MS level biostatisticians, is seeking a highly motivated and successful individual to join them at the doctoral level in the newly created track of Principal Biostatistician. The primary responsibilities of this position are to:
- Participate in collaborative research between the Biostatistics Service and one or more of clinical, translational and basic science groups in the institution;
- Depending on the nature of the collaboration, take full responsibility for all aspects of the collaboration, or participate along with a faculty biostatistician;

Post Doctoral Fellowship in Biostatistics
The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is seeking a highly motivated and successful individual interested in statistical and computational genomics, for a position as a postdoctoral fellow. This position will focus on the integration of germline genetics and somatic alterations from large-scale sequencing, with a focus on molecular classification of glioma, breast cancer, and melanoma. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead the development of novel methodologies in understanding germline and somatic interactions and analysis of large-scale integrated genotyping and tumor sequencing cohorts. The successful applicant will be supervised jointly by Drs. Ronglai Shen, Colin Begg and Jonine Bernstein.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Ph.D. degree in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related field, ideally with experience in NGS sequencing data analysis including whole-exomes and whole-genomes.

Post Doctoral Fellowship in Biostatistics
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate, interested in sequencing data analysis, for a position as a postdoctoral fellow.
The successful candidate should have solid methodological training in (bio)statistics, be comfortable developing simulations, and be proficient in R. Prior experience with genomics data analysis is a plus.
The successful applicant will work with Dr. Li-Xuan Qin to develop novel statistical methods and software tools for preprocessing and analyzing deep sequencing data, including microRNA-seq and single-cell-seq. S/he will have the opportunity to study carefully benchmarked empirical data, develop preprocessing methods in connection with downstream analysis, and apply the methods to ongoing cancer studies in collaboration with experimentalists and clinicians at MSK and other institutes.
