Career advice

Kat has a wealth of experience and advice about a life in science communication, from deciding to leave the lab to earning a living or landing a book deal.

She offers one-to-one personal mentoring, either in person or via phone/Skype for a nominal fee. She can provide advice about pursuing a career in science communication; feedback on writing, book ideas, audio/video or talks; or just a friendly ear to talk through the possibilities of a life outside the lab.

Kat also gives talks about careers in science communication for undergraduates, graduate students and established researchers. She has spoken at many high-profile universities, conferences and research institutions in the UK and abroad including the University of Leeds, the European Bioinformatics Institute, Imperial College London, Gordon Research Seminars (Hong Kong), and the University of Toronto.
