Blood Sisterhood

Through all stages of life with a bleeding disorder- we're here to help. We offer support, education, and connection to a strong peer-support network.

When you enroll in Blood Sisterhood, you get connected with a community of more than 500 women with bleeding disorders. In addition to this peer support network, access to educational resources and events, you will also receive a special Blood Sisterhood Welcome Kit!

Why Should I Join Blood Sisterhood?

“HFA gave me the strength and the security to have my daughters get tested. And when I found out that both of them had von Willebrand Disease, it was not as scary as I thought it would be. I had a world of information and people to help us get through it.”

What’s Involved?

Participate as much or as little as you like! You’ll receive emails from us throughout the year about subjects like insurance trends, medical advancements, and living day-to-day as a woman with a bleeding disorder. (One of our recent e-newsletters included tips for choosing menstrual protection and removing bloodstains from clothing and linens.) You’ll also receive our quarterly print newsletter in the mail and be the first to hear about events where you can connect with women from all over the country! Click here to read about the 2019 Glamp Out- our first-ever national event for women with bleeding disorders.

We’re Stronger Together!

From the doctor’s office to Capitol Hill, nobody can tell your story better than you! Your voice has weight, and you can advocate for yourself and other women with bleeding disorders. Click here for more information on how to get involved.

Help Us Improve Blood Sisterhood

At HFA, we listen to your voice and put your feedback into action. As a result, all of our educational toolkits and other resources are tailored to what you have suggested. We also provide educational sessions to meet your needs at our annual Symposium and at a member organization near you!

Don’t see what you’re looking for? Want to help us make our programs better? Not sure how to get involved? If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please reach out to us at info@hemophiliafed.org.
