Former President of the Leopoldina Jörg Hacker has been a member of the International Advisory Board on Global Health (IAB) of the German Federal Ministry of Health since August 2017. The main task of the board is to provide advice to the German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) on the new German Global Health Strategy. In addition, the IAB formulates proposals for solutions to global health policy challenges, focusing on Germany’s opportunities for action in the international community.
The IAB consists of national and international experts from various disciplines. It is chaired by Professor Ilona Kickbusch and coordinated by the BMG. The IAB convenes three times a year for non-public meetings.
