The members of the Leopoldina are organized in 28 sections that are grouped in four classes.
Just like any other kind of human activity, the way scientists conduct research may raise ethical questions. These concern not only the standards of good scientific practice, but also the opportunities and risks of new research findings. The committee's work focuses on addressing pressing ethical questions in scientific practice, supported by scientific expertise.
