The Endurance Running hypothesis is the latest incarnation of the open-plain models of human evolution, which speculated that human is anatomically and physiologically adapted to endurance running in the hot savannah, running down preys to exhaustion, like a few hunter-gatherer tribes in South Africa and Central America still do today. This is why, according to the model, we all love running marathons.
